BAGUMBAYAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Bagumbayan, Magpet, Cotabato

HISTORY
Bagumbayan National High School is located on top of a mountain in the heart of barangay Bagumbayan. It is 12 kilometres away from the Poblacion of Magpet. The road going to barangay Bagumbayan is almost concrete except from barangay Noa to Bagumbayan. The school has an area of more or less 10,000 square meters and was donated by barangay captain Joel P. Ogario in year 2011. In the same year, the school was established with four standardized classroom donated by the Japanese embassy. This is called the J-BIRD building which is occupied by the Grade 7 to Grade 10 year levels today. At the foot of the mountain is where the Bagumbayan Elementary School is located. The distance of the elementary from the high school is only half kilometer away but going to the high school is quite perplexing since the path going to it is quite steep.
In June 2010, when the class already started, the teachers used only the barangay hall and the multi-purpose building as the temporary classrooms of the first year and second year students. At that time, the first teacher of Bagumbayan National High School was Mrs. Marivic E. Tasic, a Mathematics teacher and volunteer. After two months, Mrs. Elita O. Rebuta, a Science teacher followed. Next to her, was Mr. Daniel Baay, the first school head of Bagumbayan National High School.
In 2010-2011, after one year and a half, Mrs. Fe Nadela Hinay from Basak National High School became the second school head of Bagumbayan National High School. However, it was just in a short period of time. It lasted only for three months.
During the inauguration of the kindergarten building on December 2010, one of their guests was Dr. Rolando G. Mauricio from the Division Office. It paved the way for Brgy. Captain Joel P. Ogario and Dr. Mauricio to talk about the planned building of the secondary school in the place. Also, with the visitation of the Japanese Embassy on the place, they saw that the high school had only two classrooms. With that, they proposed to donate a building for the High School. Thus, Hon. Joel P. Ogario processed all the necessary documents needed for the construction of the secondary school. Then, in 2011 this building which had four classrooms was been put up. This is the J-BIRD building which the Bagumbayan National High School is now using.
